Distinctive Training Services has become a leader in the corporate environment in South Australia along with other states.  With experience in the resources, engineering, oil & gas, not-for-profit, education and the civil infrastructure industries, we strive to be our very best in three key areas of focus: training, consultancy and training material development.

We conduct a wide range of workshops, including leadership workshops that focus strongly on achieving targeted and positive change within business.

We are passionate about increasing mindfulness in the workplace and helping organisations foster a culture of care.  Our Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training workshops are pivotal in this focus area, and companies with a social conscience will reap the benefits from having MHFA trained staff.

Jeanine Carruthers
Jeanine CarruthersManagement Consultant
Jeanine is the founding member of DTS, with extensive experience over all the industry sectors we serve.
Jeanine is confident when managing stakeholders and composed under pressure, successfully juggling competing priorities. She has proven experience in developing internal and external communication and participating in various industry driven committees.
Jeanine’s aim has always been to add value and leave a training workshop or discussion knowing she has made a positive difference to the lives of those who attended. There is no use doing work half-heartedly! She carries a passion for people-centric, results orientated business.

After working in a range of businesses and industry sectors as a consultant she noticed that employers view on staff support and treatment was not in line with how employees were coping with their workplace situations especially in times of stress such as going through difficult economic times, job restructures and work consolidation.
As an outsider she found herself confided in and noticed an emerging trend in mental health issues across all industry sectors, and these issues were not addressed. This planted the seed for her wanting to make a difference to inform, educate and support individuals to help them to live the life they are meant to……and thrive!
Melissa Sherman
Melissa ShermanConsultant
Melissa Sherman is an engaging, adaptable facilitator who is passionate about increasing mental health literacy and skills in the workplace and in the community.

In providing training programs, Melissa draws on 20 years’ experience in education, counselling, project management and human resources. She holds volunteer roles in the mental health and disability sectors. She is currently completing her Bachelor of Psychology, has a Graduate Diploma in Counselling, an education degree and her Certificate IV in Training and Education.

Vincent Riviere
Vincent RiviereConsultant
Vincent Riviere has worked in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Wellbeing field for the past 13 years. He has worked in a variety of acute clinical settings which include non-government, government, juvenile justice, health and both secondary and primary schools.

In 2017, Vince joined the PAI team and managed the South Australian Kidsmatter and Mindsmatter national Mental Health Initiative in Schools. Through this, he worked with many South Australian schools to imbed the frameworks and strengthen knowledge of best practice models of Mental health and Wellbeing of school staff and leadership.

Most recently, Vincent has been working with the National Employment Assistance Program ACCESS. This has seen him responsible for the implementation and establishment of national Mental Health and Wellbeing frameworks and specialised training for the Australian corporate sector. Vincent has extensive experience in supporting education and corporate mental health and wellbeing frameworks, processes, best practice strategies to move from a mindset and space of reactivity to a position of proactivity when supporting members of their unique workplace communities with Mental Health difficulties.

Vince is also a nationally recognised facilitator of Youth and Adult Mental Health First Aid accredited course. This has seen Vince work with and support school and corporate staff from around Australia to gain their accreditation. Vince also works with school and corporate leadership teams within consultancy to support best practice in terms of support, processes, procedures, referral and treatment of students and staff with Mental Health difficulties.
